Language Courses

Centre for Genomic Regulation organizes language courses of of Catalan, Spanish, and English which are offered for free to all employees, visitors, collaborators, and EMBL Barcelona outstation staff. Classes are offered to a group of up to 10 participants from beginner to advanced levels, by professional language teachers.

Format:
Sessions of one hour are organized via zoom twice per week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday). Additionally, a dedicated CRG moodle course is provided for each group, facilitating the exchange of materials, resources, and communication with the teacher.

Current Schedule:
Sessions take place in the morning from 8:30-9:30 and in the afternoon from 18:00-19:00. We are pleased to introduce a mid-day family-friendly schedule from 13:00-14:00 (CET). Not all languages and levels are organized during each time slot, and you can see the detailed agenda below.

April to June 2024 Trimester Calendar:
There are 20 sessions per course organized during days indicated below in blue.

Conditions:
Please note that the courses are fully funded by the CRG, making them completely free for participants. However, we do require a minimum attendance commitment of 50%. Failure to meet this requirement will result in ineligibility to enrol in the next trimester of the course. We believe this level of commitment is essential for effective learning, which is our primary goal in offering these courses.

Applications:
The applications for the language courses are currently closed and will again open in September 2024 for the next trimester (October-December 2024).
