In the past ten years, we have been studying genetic, social and environmental factors, and GxE in gene regulation in children with asthma and in older adults. I will present the results of our single cell genomic studies in immune cells from these urban cohorts. I will also discuss the importance of considering complex environmental contexts when using molecular data to study the genetic risk of complex traits.
