RNA Biology in Cancer and other Diseases

Aiguader, 88 PRBB Auditorium

The second meeting on RNA Biology in Cancer and other Diseases will take place on November 24-26, 2015, co-organized by the Consolider RNAREG and the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC). Recent progress has made evident that RNA metabolism plays a key regulatory role in the control of gene expression and that alteration in this process are major contributors to human disease.

The meeting will bring together world leaders in the area of RNA Biology and its implications in aging as well as in the etiology and progression of a variety of pathologies, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to eight keynote lectures, the meeting will provide ample opportunities for platform and poster presentations by other participants (with an emphasis on presentations by PhD students and postdocs) as well as for informal discussions among participants.

The Consolider RNAREG Consortium has been funded by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation through the Consolider-Ingenio Program to support interdisciplinary research in the area of RNA Biology and associated pathologies.

The Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute is supported by the Josep Carreras Foundation and the Catalonian Government (Generalitat) to improve the diagnostics, prognosis and treatment of leukemia and other haematological diseases through basic and clinical research with the ultimate goal of making all leukemia curable.
