Raul Méndez awarded with the "Ciutat de Barcelona 2008" Prize
RAUL MENDEZ, AWARDED WITH THE "CIUTAT DE BARCELONA 2008" PRIZE
The researcher leading the Translational Control of Gene Expression Group at the CRG has been given the "Ciutat de Barcelona" Prize in the Scientific Research category.
The jury agreed unanimously on his nomination because of the contribution of Raul Mendez to the understanding of the meiosis regulation. The jury, which members were Ricard Guerrero (president), Fàtima Bosch, Mara Dierssen, Gonzalo Casino and Jordi Sargatal, considers that Mendez and his collaborators "established a new mechanism for temporal and spatial control in gene expression".
The "Ciutat de Barcelona" Prize Ceremony will take place on Thursday 12 February, at L'Auditori in Barcelona.
