• The Centre for Genomic Regulation has received first prize in the medium-sized business category.
  
• The awards ceremony took place in the morning of June 26, in Madrid. The award was received by Marian Marrodán, the director of the CRG.

Barcelona, June 27, 2014- Yesterday, Thursday June 26, the awards ceremony for the Premios Nacionales Alares® was held in the Caixaforum Auditorium, Madrid, convened by the Fundación Alares.
In the VIII Edition of these awards, and by unanimous decision of a jury made up of recognised names in the field, first prize in the medium-sized businesses category was awarded to the Centre for Genomic Regulation. This award acknowledges the work carried out by the centre promoting the reconciliation of work, family and personal life.
This award is yet another incentive for the Centre for Genomic Regulation to continue pushing forward so its employees enjoy the best possible working conditions. It also enables the centre to work towards accomplishing the goals of the HR Excellence in Research distinction, which the CRG received a few months ago from the European Commission.
This seal of quality is a recognition of the centre's commitment to developing a human resources strategy for researchers, designed to align best practices and procedures with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Selection of Researchers.

The Centre for Genomic Regulation
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international institute of biomedical research of excellence, set up in December 2000 and based in Barcelona. It is a non-profit foundation funded by the Department of Economics and Knowledge and the Department of Health of the Catalan government, and by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, including participation by Pompeu Fabra University. The CRG is credited as a Severo Ochoa centre of excellence and its mission is to discover and advance knowledge for the benefit of society, public health and economic prosperity. The CRG believes that the medicine of the future depends on current innovative science. This requires an interdisciplinary scientific team focused on understanding the complexity of life, from the genome to the cell, up to a complete organism and its interaction with the environment, to provide a comprehensive view of diseases genetics. Its main objectives are: a) to become a global reference in the field of biomedical sciences; (b) to communicate and establish a bilateral dialogue with society; (c) to offer advanced training to the next generation of scientists; and (d) transform new knowledge into benefit and value for society and the economy of the country.
The Alares Foundation
The Alares® Foundation is an institutional creation of the Grupo Alares®, that was set up as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. It was also created to help provide an adequate response to the increasing public focus on the phenomena associated with new welfare and social protection structures. This includes the development of studies, consulting and services related to dependence, the reconciliation of working and family life, and the social responsibility of citizens, companies and institutions.
