X CRG PhD Symposium

Organized by: CRG PhD Representatives and CRG Academic Office

The X CRG PhD Symposium is an internal symposium aimed at providing a platform for the young scientists working at the centre. All 3rd year students give a short talk focusing on the main question they want to address in their PhD and how they are planning to do this. In addition posters by 4th year students will give an overview of the work that is being carried out in our institute.

Speakers

NGS'17: Structural Variation & Population Genomics

Hosted by the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Next-generation sequencing conference covers a broad range of topics in genome sequencing and analysis. Our particular focus areas in 2017 are structural variation and population genomics.

EXHIBITION: "Tree of Life. The complexity of life: from the cell to the living organism"

ENGLISH VERSION

The exhibition brings together images from the scientific work of the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG)

Photographs by researchers at the CRG are being presented. The aim is to share not only the work that is done at the centre, but also the beauty and uniqueness of the images and the parallels and synergies between art and science.

Centre Cívic Urgell will host the exhibition, which is being supported by the Banc Sabadell Foundation.

The Sensory Logic of the Gastronomic Brain, San Sebastian, Spain

Is it possible to design gastronomic experiences tailored to the genetic profile of diners? What stimuli do we receive when we eat: How do we perceive and integrate them? How do we model behaviours at and away from the table? What role do expectations play during a tasting menu? Can we transfer this knowledge beyond the gastronomic experience and bring it to the field of health?

Young Scientist Networking Meeting 2017

About the meeting

The Young Scientist Networking Meeting brings together young group leaders from India and Europe, and students and post doctoral scholars to catalyze collaborative research and advance careers.

The goal is to provide an interactive international platform between scientists from India and Europe to initiate and improve exchange of ideas, talent, technology and resources.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to understand the wide range of work under the main theme “Biology”, that is ongoing in the two parts of the world.
