Women in Science Sessions - CRG Gender Balance Committee Seminars

The CRG Gender Balance Committee is pleased to host Dr. Virginia Valian, Distinguished Professor. Department of Psychology-Hunter College, USA, talking about:

“Remedying the (Still too) Slow Advancement of Women”

VII CRG Postdoctoral Symposium

The CRG Postdoc Committee organizes the VII Postdoctoral Symposium on July 6th, 2016, at the PRBB Auditorium.

The day will be split in four sessions, one for each CRG Research Programme, and there will be three kind of talks in each session: faculty picks, elected by the PIs of the department, short talk and lightning talks, chosen from abstracts. In addition, the day will be open and closed by keynotes talks from a CRG Alumni and a senior PI (see below).

The purpose is to get to know what other postdocs do in Barcelona and foster collaborative projects and ideas.

IDIBELL-CRG: Joining forces in biomedical research

18/05/2016
This networking event aims to bring together basic and translational/clinical researchers from different fields and institutes (IDIBELL and CRG) to explore and discuss new collaboration opportunities and found the basis for future joint activities and projects.

The microbiome in respiratory medicine Symposium

The Microbiome in respiratory medicine Symposium is organized by the Barcelona Respiratory Network and aims to present and discuss most recent findings on the respiratory microbiome in health and disease, to review current cutting-edge research in this area, to identify priorities and gaps in the field and to discuss future implications for patient care and health systems.

EMBO Practical Course: Targeted Proteomics. Experimental design and data analysis

Different targeted proteomics strategies have recently emerged in the field of proteomics that enable the detection and quantification of a predetermined subset of proteins with a high degree of sensitivity and reproducibility across many samples. This EMBO Practical Course aims to fill in the gap between theory and the actual implementation of the targeted proteomics workflow, so that by the end of the week the students have the necessary know-how to implement the targeted proteomics workflows on their own research laboratories.

15th CRG Symposium: Evolution and Medicine

Evolutionary theory forms the basis for our understanding of the natural world. The development, behaviour and physiology of our own species has been shaped by million of years of evolution. Furthermore, the interaction of humans with species that directly affect our health and survival is constantly being modified by evolutionary forces through natural or artificial selection. The conference aims to explore the interplay of evolution and medicine, acting either in our own species or on species directly affecting our well being.

CRG and BD Workshop: New Insights for Multicolor Panel Design

Flow Cytometry Workshop jointly organized by CRG/UPF FACS Unit and BD.

In the frame of the BD Horizon Tour, we would like to invite you to join us for the CRG and BD Workshop on 12 April 2016 from 09:15h until 14:30h in the PRBB Auditorium.

Listen to the Brain: The Brain Polyphony concert

Listen to the brain

The Brain Polyphony Concert

In the context of the Brain Awareness Week (BAW) 2016, the Centre for Genomic Regulation in collaboration with the Barcelona Research Art & Creation (BRAC) of the University of Barcelona and Starlab have created a concert with the aim of exploring the possibilities of the Brain Poliphony system. The concert will take place at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcleona (CCCB).

Courses@CRG : CRISPR-CAS9 tool: From Gene to Function

The CRISPR-Cas9 technology enables researchers to construct novel experiments in a wide range of fields—from basic biomedical research to biotechnology and medicine—allowing them to edit genomes at sites of their choosing.  It is now possible to create knock-in, knock-outs and mutations of any gene in any cell line or organism with high efficiency. This approach allows the perturbation of biological systems at the gene as well as at the protein level.
