EXHIBITION: "Tree of Life. The complexity of life: from the cell to the living organism"

ENGLISH VERSION

The exhibition brings together images from the scientific work of the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG)

Photographs by researchers at the CRG are being presented. The aim is to share not only the work that is done at the centre, but also the beauty and uniqueness of the images and the parallels and synergies between art and science.

Centre Cívic Urgell will host the exhibition, which is being supported by the Banc Sabadell Foundation.

The Sensory Logic of the Gastronomic Brain, San Sebastian, Spain

Is it possible to design gastronomic experiences tailored to the genetic profile of diners? What stimuli do we receive when we eat: How do we perceive and integrate them? How do we model behaviours at and away from the table? What role do expectations play during a tasting menu? Can we transfer this knowledge beyond the gastronomic experience and bring it to the field of health?

1st BIST Postdoc Day

Welcome to the 1st BIST Postdoc Day, an event organized by postdocs that seeks to foster interaction and create new collaborations among BIST institutes.

On November 23 the Recinte Modernista of Hospital Sant Pau will host a meeting where the Postdoc community will have the opportunity to share their experiences and suggest ideas on how BIST can support and enhance their professional careers.

Courses@CRG: CHROMOSOMAL CONFORMATION

The eukaryotic genome is non-randomly organized in a hierarchy of structures: chromosomes territories, which occupy preferential positions within the interphasic nucleus, are segmented into topological domains where loops between enhancer and promoters are favored. Such organization plays important roles in the processing of the genetic information including replication and gene transcription. The Chromosomal Conformation Course at CRG will provide an overview of different methods to study the three-dimensional organization of the genome.
