PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR SCIENTISTS

Do you wonder how to make your project more successful? Have you correctly estimated how much money and time you will need to complete your project? Did you evaluate the potential pitfalls? Do you have a great idea but you don't know translate it into a convincing project?

These are all questions that you might have wondered at least once in your life as a researcher. A good practice of Project Management is the right answer to most of them! 

Why participate?

In this "Project Management for scientists" course you will learn the basics of PM, among others:

- how to properly define objectives and key success factors

- how to address and convince stakeholders about the relevance of your ideas

- how to make a rational work plan to avoid waste of time and money

- how to evaluate risks and challenges in order to maximize the chances of success

- how to follow-up progress and evaluate results

- what it is a project (and what it is not), the concepts and jargon used in PM and more!

Duration of the course

4 half-days (9am-1:30pm): 8, 9, 10 and 27 November 2017.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for researchers (Postdocs, PhD students, lab managers, technicians, etc.) who wish to gain skills in project management applied to research.

Registration:

The number of participants will be limited to 16 (CRG researchers only) and they will be selected based on the motivation statement. Registration deadline: 15th of October 2017.
