The IDA has a global purpose to provide state-of-the-art imaging and data analytics capabilities to deliver actionable, impactful insight throughout the whole R&D pipeline, from early drug discovery to late clinical trials, to predict safety and efficacy in patients. IDA stands within the Clinical Pharmacology and Safety Sciences (CPSS) department, partnering closely with Pathology, Safety Science, Clinical Pharmacology & Quantitative Pharmacometrics. IDA's north star for 2030 is to humanize drug discovery, meaning reduction and overcoming of the need for animal models. Part of this delegation will be Nick Brown, Head of the IDA unit at AZ, who is based in Cambridged, and will deliver an open seminar to CRG in the Aula Room. Nick will give and overview of the work they do as well as information on careers in AZ on multi-modal data analysis (e.g., omics data, in-vivo images) through bioinformatics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data engineering.
