Thomas Graf appointed as associated editor of new journal Stem Cell Reports

  • The new online, open-access journal is an initiative of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and Cell Press. The first number will be published in June 2013.

Thomas Graf, ICREA Research Professor and leader of the hematopoietic stem cell biology and differentiation group at the CRG, has been appointed associated editor of Stem Cell Reports. The journal will present advances in all areas of stem cell research and its medical applications in form of short, single-point articles.
Four associated editors from Middle East, Japan, USA, and Europe compose the editorial board, coordinated by Christine Mummery, from Leiden University Medical Center. The other editors are Nissim Benvenisty (Hebrew University, Israel), Hideyuki Okano, (Keio University School of Medicine, Japan) and David Scadden (Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University, USA).
The idea of this partnership between the ISSCR and Cell Press is to add “visibility to stem cell research and accelerate the speed with which advances and new ideas are shared and expanded” adds Nobel Prize winner Shinya Yamanaka, in an interview with the International Society for Stem Cell Research website.
Thomas Graf is also an active member of the EuroStemCell Network.
