"EMBO recognises the scientific contribution of Pia Cosma, researcher of the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG)"

Pia Cosma, the italian ICREA research professor and leader of the Reprogramming  and Regeneration research group at the Centre for Genomic Regulation, in Barcelona, was awarded the life-long honour of EMBO membership on October 27th. Cosma is one of the twelve women, within 63 scientists elected, to join this exclusive club with almost 1500 of the world’s leading molecular biologists.
Cosma, who has one of the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grants, investigates the mechanisms controlling the reprogramming of somatic cells with the final goal focused on determining if this reprogramming contributes to tissue regeneration in higher vertebrates.
